Description

The Production Technologist is responsible for evaluating existing processes and configuring manufacturing systems to reduce cost, improve sustainability and develop best practices within the production process.  Reporting directly to the Batco-REM Engineering Manager, this position is based in our Swift Current, Saskatchewan facility.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Analyze and recommend improvements to all production processes to facilitate cost reduction and quality improvement
Development of manufacturing processes for new products
Conduct time studies and work simplification programs
Collect, record and transcribe data
Present results in reports
Collaborate with shop floor team members on manufacturing and production matters
Update and maintain accurate CAD models, drawings, and bills of materials
Implement production changes according to standard Engineering Change procedures
Comply with Division and AGI Engineering standards, procedures, and protocols
Comply with company policies, operating procedures and health & safety guidelines
Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
College Diploma in Manufacturing Technician/Technologist or equivalent
2 - 5 years' experience in Manufacturing Engineering or related field
Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques and implementation experience
Proficient with SolidWorks or other parametric CAD software and MS Office
Strong analytical, problem solving, decision making, organizational and time management skills
Ability to communicate effectively and work independently and in a team environment
Able to exercise good judgment, initiative, and a strong work ethic

Preference will be given to candidates who have experience working with agricultural equipment, as well as industrial experience including working with metal processing manufacturing.
