Leading Thunderbird Lodge is a youth treatment facility owned by the File Hills Qu`Appelle and Touchwood Agency Tribal Councils. The facility is located at Fort San, Saskatchewan (near Fort Qu`Appelle) and provides a three month residential treatment program for male youth between the ages of 12-17
Leading Thunderbird Lodge is looking for motivated, enthusiastic individuals who have a sincere interest in working with youth in the CASUAL positions of:
Youth Care Worker: These positions are responsible for working directly with the youth as follows:
- Providing supervision to all youth during the scheduled shift
- Providing assistance, guidance and support to meet youth needs and requests.
- Assisting with the completion of required documentation (shift logs, daily summaries, etc.)
- Assisting with meeting timelines for bedtime, morning breakfast, circle, class, etc.
- Attending staff meetings
- Providing supervision on scheduled activities and events
- Ensuring the supervision office is clean and tidy for the next shift
Shifts include: Monday-Friday, 4:30 p.m.- 12:30 p.m., or Friday, Saturday, 12:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.; Sunday - 12:30 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. Monday.
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- A certificate in Addictions-Youth Care Worker would be an asset
- First Aid-CPR, ASIST, Non-violent Crisis Intervention would be an asset
- Must submit a valid driver's license, driver's abstract, CPIC & Child Abuse Registry Check.
Applicants must also lead an addictions free lifestyle & promote their own wellness and an interest in promoting First Nations cultural based programming. Candidates should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proven reliability and the ability to work in a team.
