The Saskatchewan Association for Community Living (SACL) is seeking a Director of Employment Initiatives.
The Director of Employment Initiatives will work to promote social change and increase the employment level of people with intellectual disabilities. This position will develop relationships and collaborate with employers, community agencies, and government to create meaningful employment opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop employment bridging strategies needed to expand recruitment and hiring of people with intellectual disabilities.
Conduct outreach and follow up with employers and employer organizations at the provincial and community levels.
Develop partnerships with community agencies for delivery of employment supports to meet employer demand.
Provide project management, administration, budget and expenditure monitoring as related to project implementation.
Liaise with the National Project team, and attend national meetings as required.
Requirements:
Post-secondary education in a related field or at least 3 years experience in the facilitation of employment outcomes
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong outreach, organizational, and team work skills
Knowledge of issues, programs and services affecting people with disabilities relating to employment is an asset
Strong knowledge of local labour market issues and trends in Saskatchewan
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Applications
Valid drivers licence
A criminal record check is required
