Description

The Five Hills Health Region, Moose Jaw Union Hospital is seeking a temporary full time Manager of Central Sterile Supply until September 15, 2015.  The Manager is accountable for the effective and efficient operation of the Regional Central Sterile Supply (CSS) system.

CSS encompasses the decontamination, preparation, sterilization, distribution and control of sterile and non-sterile supplies, instrumentation and equipment used throughout Moose Jaw Union Hospital as well as other areas of the region and community.  

The incumbent is responsible to ensure the department provides a consistent, high quality, defect-free service. This requires strict adherence to standards and application of best practices regarding decontamination, assembly and sterilization of supplies, instrumentation and equipment throughout daily operations. The incumbent will work closely with the Director, OR & Recovery Room (the major consumer of CSS goods and services) and must maintain ongoing communication with the Executive Director of Clinical Services, nurse managers, staff, physicians, etc.

The incumbent must maintain current knowledge of changing practices in the OR and across the region that may result in changes of supplies and/or their usage. Maintaining current knowledge of CSA standards is also critical to ensure delivery of a service that is defect-free and ultimately patient-focused.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3-5 years experience working in the area of Sterile Processing and Reprocessing.
- Certificate in Sterile Processing from a recognized program.
- Previous clinical or management experience in a health care setting.
