Description

Position Summary

The Quality Assurance Coordinator is accountable for ensuring that all inbound and         outbound produce meets quality standards at the Distribution level. The Quality Assurance Coordinator works with various areas (Produce Procurement, Food Safety/Quality     Assurance/Regulatory, Retail, Supply Chain, and Operations) to aid in the integration and adherence of policies and processes.

Key Accountabilities:
    
Ensure rigorous adherence and compliance with established Quality Assurance programs and policies thereby ensuring that all produce meets the highest standards of quality and         food safety.
Verify that all inbound product consistently meets our specifications for quality.

Complete daily/ongoing QA auditing of product ( slot checks, inter branch and store audits)
Investigate and document all quality inspection findings with appropriate forms and systems (dock logs, rejection reports, slot check, QA reports etc) on a daily/ongoing basis Continuous communication with Operations Management.                 
        
Interact with CFIA with respect to inspections/detentions and recovery programs
        
Conduct any general duties, specific projects and responsibilities as assigned or required in a timely and professional manner.


Job Qualifications

Produce industry experience (Procurement, Retail, or Distribution).

Understanding and adherence to company specifications for all produce lines.

Ability to communicate(verbally and written) effectively inter-departmentally and at various levels throughout the organization.
Self motivated, detail oriented, analytical and organized.
  
Computer experience in a Windows environment.
Knowledge of banana ripening functions is an asset.
Requires ability to stand for long periods of time and lift 50 lbs on a repetitive basis
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast paced, 24/7 refrigerated warehouse environment.

Weekend and shift work may be required.
