The LITE Program (Learning Interculturalism Through Employment) is offered in partnership between SIA and the White Buffalo Youth Lodge in Saskatoon. This project aims to link Aboriginal and Newcomer youth to employment while exploring cultural diversity. As the Life Culture Advisor, you will assist clients with essential skills development and facilitate cultural diversity workshops and training.
Position Details
Duration: Sep. 15, 2014 - Feb. 13, 2015
Weekly Working Hours: 30 hours per week
Wage: $20 per hour
Minimum required qualifications include:
(a) University degree not restricted to, but preferably in the area of social work, humanities or social sciences. Or equivalent combination of education and work related experience;
(b) Knowledge/Experience in at least one of the following topics: Canadian history, Cross-cultural education, and intercultural training
(c) Extensive knowledge of and appreciation for contemporary issues related to human rights, the intersection of gender, race, and class, and of the barriers faced by Newcomers and Aboriginal people
