Hours of work: 112.00 hours per 6 week rotation.
Job Summary:
The Public Health Nurse (PHN), as an integral member of the Public Health Services team, provides nursing services within the framework of the Population Health Promotion Model and Primary Health Care. This employee works relatively independently and is expected to make primary decisions based on sounds assessment in accordance with The Public Health Act, both regional and PHN specific policy and procedures, the SRNA Standards of Practice, the Canadian Nurses Association Code of Ethics for Nurses, the Community Health Nurses of Canada - Standards of Practice, and PHN Discipline Specific Competencies. Inherent in this role knowledge, skills, and abilities specific to health promotions, prevention, and protection. This employee lyases with, and refers to, other health personnel, and other sectors and community groups.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree of Nursing
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association (SRNA)
- Valid Class 5 drivers license

- Ability to communicate with and maintain an effective working relationship with clients from diverse social, economic, and cultural backgrounds
- Ability to make decisions, which must include coordination of staffing, and/or patient care,and/or coordination of equipment

Previous experience in Public Health Nursing is preferred.
