Description

Littelfuse Startco has an immediate opening for a Permanent, Full time Senior Electrical Engineer at Littelfuse. The overall objective is to work with customers to determine their electrical equipment requirements and to design products which will meet or exceed their needs. This position provides leadership and mentorship to junior members of the Custom Product engineering team.

Job Responsibilities
Design unique custom products for the mining and resource industries
Ensure safety throughout design and production stages
Provide senior review and check for Custom Product designs
Interfacing with customers and understanding their individual requirements
Increase the capability and performance of the CP EITs, Junior Engineers and Technical personnel through mentoring and performance feedback
Troubleshoot technical problems in-person, over the phone or by email
Design new and unique products for customers in a variety of industrial applications and sectors

Position Requirements
Four-year Electrical Engineering Degree.
Eligibility to Register as a P.Eng. in the Province of Saskatchewan.

Skills & Competencies
At least 8 years of experience in electrical design of mine power systems including 5kV and 15kV distribution, 600V and 5kV MCCs, automation and control. Experience with 25kV and 34.5kV systems is advantageous.
Experience in the mining industry and particularly potash mines. Oil Sands and Oil & Gas experience would be an asset.
Ability to take Littelfuse Startco into new market areas.
Project Management experience in leading mid-sized projects
High level of attention to detail and effective time management skills
Good communication skills  both verbal and written.
Ability to work with hand tools, multi-meters, dielectric test units, voltage & current sources, and meggers.
Ability to troubleshoot equipment.
Desire to provide mentorship and leadership to junior team members
