Successful, family run farm and trucking company is seeking an experienced Heavy Duty Mechanic to repair and maintain a variety of heavy equipment. The successful candidate has experience maintaining farm equipment, heavy trucks and trailers. The business also operates as an SGI approver issuing Saskatchewan Safety Certificates, therefore requiring the Heavy Duty Mechanic to be able to perform Saskatchewan Vehicle Safety Inspections.
Responsibilities:
Check agricultural, heavy trucks and trailers for proper performance and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
Carry out engine overhauls, transmission, fuel injection, hydraulics or electronic repairs
Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunction and determine extent of repair required
Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems, using hand and power tools
Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications
Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment
Perform required paperwork to maintain documentation and records on repairs (CAT software)
Perform Saskatchewan Vehicle Safety Inspections as required
Requirements:
A minimum of 5 years experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic working on relevant equipment required
Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic Certification preferred, though a combination of work experience in the trade along with college or industry courses in heavy equipment repair will be considered
Ability to perform Saskatchewan Vehicle Safety Inspections
