Description

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the main purpose of this position is to provide leadership to the area team members who work in the Tube / Frame / GrainVac area.  This individual will ensure work occurs in an efficient and effective manner.  

Roles & Responsibilities
On-floor supervision of area team members
Collaborating with other area supervisors and the management team to ensure company goals and objectives are met
Ensuring the work area meets the quality and quantity targets in an efficient and safe manner
Conducting area production and tool box meetings as required
Ensuring compliance with all safety legislation and company safety initiatives while working cooperatively with the Occupational Health and Safety Committee as required.
Ensuring work area is clean, properly maintained and inspected in accordance with safety requirements and maintenance logs
Participating in the recruitment of new team members
Facilitating and/or ensuring team member orientation, training and development and education takes place.
Managing team member attendance, overtime, vacation leave and time card use.
Evaluation area team members through on-going feedback and performance reviews.
Maintaining confidentiality pertaining to all aspects of team member and company matters
Participating in hands-on area work

Skills
Operation and use of area tools as required
Ability to plan, assign and evaluate job tasks
Problem solve and make sound recommendations pertaining to production and team member issues
Delegate appropriate responsibility to area team members
Foster team spirit through positive role modelling and attitude
Resolve team member issues and concerns in conjunction with Human Resources and Management
Effective time management skills
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
