MANDATE:
Responsible for excellent customer service and the accurate collections and processing of specimens for Patient Services in Regina
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Performs phlebotomy as part of regular duties
Responsible for the preparation of samples and/or reagents for routine processing
Performs simple non-interpretive tests under minimal supervision.
Ensures quality control checks and standards are run as required.
Participates in all quality assurance programs and ensures company guidelines are observed.
Performs routine maintenance of laboratory equipment as appropriate.
Follows all safety polices and procedures.
SKILLED KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
Technical Skills
Strong phlebotomy skills.
Excellent customer service skills.
Multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Computer order-entry skills (order approx. 40 patients/hour)
An approved laboratory assistant course or equivalent is preferred.
