Description

Job Summary: The Nurse B is accountable for assisting the Community Health Services Manager during the day shift in assessing, planning, implementing, documenting and evaluating clinical and non-clinical situations as they pertain to the operations of the facilities.

Job location: Kipling Memorial Health Centre and Willowdale Lodge Care Home, Kipling SK.

Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience working in and Acute Care Setting and Long Term Care Setting. Previous education and/or experience in coordinating activities and personnel.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree in Nursing
- Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association (SRNA)
- Valid drivers license or the ability to travel both within the Region and Provincially
- Ability to competently use computers and software applications as required by the position
- Ability to make decisions, which must include coordination of staffing, and/or patient care, and/or coordination of equipment
- Communication skills to provide/obtain verbal and/or written opinions/advice
- Leadership skills

Other Information:
- 3 years recent clinical experience in acute clinical or patient/family service area
- Evening and weekend work may be required
- The Nurse B will play a major role with the integration and move to a new facility in late 2014. The Hospital and Care Home will be amalgamated into a single new facility that will operate 33 LTC Beds and 12 Acute Beds. Until the new facility opens this position will be required to work between the current acute and long term care stand alone facilities.
