The Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations (FSIN) is seeking a highly motivated individual for the position of Non-Insured Health Benefits Navigator that will be located out of Saskatoon. The individual will be responsible for assisting First Nations clients, communities and organizations in navigating and addressing issues in the health system; including, assisting clients in navigating the appeals and exceptions process within the NIHB process and educating First Nations on all aspects of the NIHB program.
Qualifications: Minimum requirements are a relevant degree from a post-secondary institute and five years of satisfactory full-time professional experience in a health/policy related field. The candidate must have experience maintaining working relationships with external stakeholders, such as other governments, agencies, service providing organizations or non-governmental organizations and a proven track record of working with multi-stakeholder groups. Demonstrated oral and written communications, research and analytical skills with the ability to prepare comprehensive reports, work plans, and a general knowledge of the FSIN structure and legislative processes will be critical to this position. Knowledge and understanding of Inherent and Treaty rights, the health system and existing First Nations, federal, and provincial legislation related to health policy issues will be required.

This position is a full-time position until March 31, 2015 with the possibility of extension depending on renewed funding from First Nations and Inuit Health.
