Description

North Battleford is a growing, well-connected city that offers:  affordable housing, competitive wages, great leisure activities, historical attractions, vibrant arts and culture and excellent educational and health services.  The City is presently seeking a key player to participate in succession planning in this City of approx 14,000 people.

The City's organizational structure includes this position as of one of the key positions in the Planning and Development Department working with and reporting to the Building & Licencing Inspector, Senior position.  We are looking for a candidate who is looking for an opportunity for advancement.  The successful candidate will be dedicated to working with city departments and employees to strive to provide the best public service delivery approach possible.

Candidates must have considerable knowledge of building construction and materials and have the ability  & experience in applying pertinent codes/regulations. Must have a proven ability to read and understand plans, drawings and specifications, to perform structural review and related computations and to suggest corrections and changes where required.  Must have the ability to interpret and apply Building Codes as well as municipal planning guidelines and policies.  Strong computer/software application skills are essential.

The ideal candidate for this position will possess Level I, II or III Building Official's Certificate and a minimum of two to five years of experience preferably in Municipal Government or a combination of experience & qualifications deemed acceptable by the City.

Qualified candidates should submit detailed resumes outlining experience, education, qualifications, references and salary expectations.  Salary is clearly dependent on qualifications and experience.
