We are currently seeking Direct Support professionals to provide supports and services in one of our Waldheim Group Homes.
REQUIREMENTS: To work interdependently in a home environment providing a variety of supports. You will be required to assist in every day living;this will involve duties such as hygiene assistance,some transferable nursing skills, housekeeping, food preparation, laundry, recreational activities, relationship building and spiritual support.
The successful applicant will have the ability to:
> Work a variety of shifts including Evenings, Weekends & Nights.
>Identify, assess and evaluate physical, emotional and personal needs;
> perform various levels of care;
> Provide holistic care with dignity and respect;
> Effectively communicate both verbally and in written form;
> Work both independently and as a team player;
> Produce accurate documentation
> Anticipate, recognize, and react to conflict situations;
> Thorough, consistent and attentive to detail.

Typically, the knowledge required for this position will be gained through experience on the job. However, a Disability Worker Certificate, previous nursing related or personal care worker experience or other related Post-Secondary Education is an asset.
We offer a competitive compensation and benefit package which includes group life, pension, long term disability, and extended health and dental coverage. Starting wage $17.30/hr.
