In your role, you will:
Provide simulator instruction on the Harvard II and/or Hawk 115 Flight Training Device (FTD) to military student pilots in accordance with the applicable NFTC Training Plan and Canadian Forces approved instructional techniques.
Develop specific expertise in one of the many Academic subjects associated with Military Pilot Training in order to create and deliver academic lectures in support of the NFTC training program.
Develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of specific Aircraft Operating Instructions, applicable Standard Manoeuvre Manual and NFTC pilot training syllabi.
Upon completion of training, successfully complete a Department of National Defence Standards Evaluation by Central Flying School (CFS) in the assigned FTD.
Obtain qualification as an academic instructor also requires evaluation by CFS.
As our ideal candidate,
You have previous military fixed wing pilot experience and revious military flying instructional experience.
You have simulator or FTD experience.
You are a qualified flying Instructor, preference given to A2 level and above.
You have a military fast-jet operational experience.
You have a formal training in instructional techniques.
You are a experienced in authoring and amending multi-media instructional courseware.
You must be able to function credibly in a leadership role with minimum supervision.
You have strong verbal and written communication skills in the english language, frech second language skills are an asset.
Strong computer skills and experience with computer information systems.
Flying Instructor Specific Skills
- Train licenced pilots for additional certification
- Teach flying techniques and procedures
Pilot Specific Skills
- Train and prepare pilots for examination
- Fly fixed wing aircrafts or helicopters
- Direct activities of aircraft as captain
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.)
- Multi-instrument Flight Rating
- Commercial Pilot Licence - fixed wing
- Airline Pilot Transport Licence - fixed wing
