Job Summary:
1.Under the direction of the Program Coordinator, the In Home Support worker is responsible to assist foster parents in the day-to-day duties as assigned
2.To assist in achieving the objectives and goals of the SFFA.
3.To function under pressure, while assisting foster parents in their day-to-day routines.
4.Other duties as assigned by the Program Coordinator.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
a)Personal Care: Babysitting and supervision of children
b)Personal Services: Meal preparation according to a plan set out by the foster parents; house cleaning, and laundry.
c)The In Home Support worker may be asked to accompany foster families on errands and/or appointments. If transporting children and/or youth the In Home Support worker must carry increased liability coverage. Mileage is not reimbursable by the SFFA.
d)The In Home Support Worker is responsible to immediately report and provide a written documentation of any events or situations that bring harm or risk to children and youth in foster care.
Other services as assigned
The In Home Support worker will identify any training that would be crucial to their assigned position.
Qualifications, Education, Training and Experiences:
Must be 18 years of age or older
Experience with children
Must provide current, clean Criminal Record Check (inclusive of Vulnerable Sector check) and Child Abuse Registry Check
Good written and verbal communication skills
Valid Drivers license when required
