Description

Duties and responsibilities:
As part of the Senior Leadership Team, the Sewing Department Senior Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operation and management of this fast-paced department.  Duties include:
-    Preparation, maintenance and reporting of budget
-    Supervision, training and mentoring of four staff and 25 individuals with physical and/or cognitive disabilities; including development and implementation of Individual Program Plans
-    Scheduling and time management to ensure timely and accurate delivery of multiple projects
-    Design and execution of patterns and prototypes
-    Project costing
-    Inventory control and management
-    Work with Branch Marketing staff to promote products and services
-    Customer Service
-    Equipment maintenance and repair
-    Ensure strict adherence to Occupational Health & Safety standards

Qualifications:
Education:
-    Post Secondary in a related field  Business Administration, Seamstress Certification, Fashion Design, Rehabilitation Worker or other related field
Experience:
-    5 years in a related capacity
-    Supervision or Management in a Commercial Sewing Facility
-    Experience working with people with disabilities
Skills:
-    Strong knowledge of current manufacturing practices, production scheduling, materials management and garment construction
-    Strong Leadership and Communication Skills
-    Ability to see a project through from inception to completion
-    Ability to develop, implement and manage budget
