Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems Canada, Ltd. (MHPSC) is a major supplier of custom welding, machining, assembly, and field services to the energy industry in Canada and around the world. We are currently seeking a permanent, full-time Estimator to join our highly skilled team at our manufacturing plant in Saskatoon.
Responsibilities:
- Promote a safe working environment
- Determine what information should be obtained from drawings and manage scope of supply in order to have accurate proposals
- Utilize quoting software and other estimating tools to calculate material, manufacturing time/cost, and prepare final proposals for review, approval, and submission
- Spend time in the shop as needed to validate quotes
- Assist and support Business Development Managers with technical expertise as needed
- Conduct research to determine needs for tooling, accessories, materials, and other factors which affect costs and the completion of proposals
Requirements:
- Demonstrated commitment to safety
- Mechanical Engineering Technologist diploma or Journeyperson certification in Machining
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Extensive knowledge of set-up processes, machine run, and load time
- Knowledge of geometric tolerance and dimensioning per standards
- Working knowledge of CAD and engineering design software
