The Saskatchewan Association for Community Living is looking for a male Mentor to provide support and assistance to a male individual with intellectual disabilities. The ideal candidate will have a drivers license and will be able to assist with and participate in activities and special interests that the individual identifies. This position offers approximately 25 hours/month
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Provide support and assistance in the areas of daily living skills, leisure/recreation, and emotional support.
Help the individual to build relationships and a community of support by taking part in regular and frequent activities where ongoing, meaningful relationships and friendships can occur.
Be a positive influence and role model to the person you are supporting.
Assist the individual in experiencing new things and provide new opportunities for personal growth.
This position offers great flexibility and would be ideal for students or individuals looking to supplement their income. The successful candidate will be required to submit a criminal record check and have a valid drivers license. Experience working with individuals with disabilities would be an asset. Hours are casual; 5 to 10 hours/week.
