Description

Location: Estevan, Melfort or Saskatoon - Preference to Saskatoon location

Job Purpose:
This position provides intermediate support within the corporate accounting department, performing a variety of moderately complex accounting functions including payables administration, various processing and posting functions to ensure day to day operations of the department are carried out, general ledger balancing  and reconciliations, project clerical support, and various maintenance functions as required to achieve departmental efficiencies.  The position works somewhat independently following established guidelines and makes routine decisions with the application of some personal judgment. This position is also responsible for supporting and liaising effectively between the retail branches, administrative departments, SaskCentral and other third parties.

Required Qualifications:

Working knowledge of accounting (will be tested)
Working knowledge of MS Office (i.e. Excel and Word - will be tested)
Working knowledge of AccPac (will be tested in 3 months)
Successful completion of:
University level Introductory to Financial Accounting or SIAST Introductory to Financial Accounting  I and II (or equivalent)
One  year job related experience in the financial services or accounting industry
Demonstrated commitment to continuous personal development and learning.

Required Professional Development
Formal auditing course (i.e. ADTG 220  Auditing through SIAST)
University Level Intermediate Accounting or SIAST Intermediate Accounting I and II
