1. Directs and monitors the activities of the Public Works and Utilities Department.
2. Plans, prioritizes and ensures the implementation of public works and utility maintenance and construction programs.
3. Advises Public Works Committee with respect to all Public Works and Utility departmental activities. Prepares reports for the Public Works Committee, Council and the CAO.
4. Develops policies, procedures and programs for roads, sewage works, and waterworks, streetlights, drainage and garbage collection and other related public works functions.
5. Directs the activities of subordinates including performance evaluation, monitoring daily activities.
6. Provides recommendations with respect to hiring, termination, pay increases and promotions.
7. Responds to inquiries and investigates complaints from the public.
8. Prepares departmental budget for Council approval and monitors, once approved working co-dependently with the CAO.
9. Reviews and approves engineering drawings for all department construction works and prepares tenders, proposals and contracts for various Public Works and Utility activities.
10. Participates as a member of the senior management team in planning for the provision of services to the residents of Moosomin.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.
Shall have a Certified Civil Engineering Technologist Certificate f with a prior years municipal management experience in a similar position.
