The YMCA Child Development Centre is seeking a
professional, energetic, responsible, and
committed person to join our team in a full time position.This location provides
care for children aged 18 months to 6 years. Successful candidates will enjoy a full family membership to the YMCA Fit Centre and classes, as well as a comprehensive benefits package after 3 month probationary period.
Some duties include:
- Planning developmentally appropriate and
stimulating activities in a play-based environment
- Participating in physical activities
- Encouraging child-led activities through
carefully chosen equipment and toys
- Teaching children the values of caring,
honesty, respect, responsibility, and
inclusiveness towards all living things
- Cleaning, organizing, and sanitizing
- Assisting in kitchen(cooking and cleaning)
duties as needed
Requirements:
- ECE Equivalency of Level 2, or 3, or other
relevant education-Level 1 may be considered for
the right applicant.
- Related experience is an asset
- Current First Aid and CPR
- Current clear Criminal Record Check in the
vulnerable sector/Clear Child Welfare/Child Abuse
check
- Current clear TB test
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.)
- First Aid Certificate
- Early Childhood Education Diploma or Degree
Additional Skills
- Maintain day care supplies and equipment
- Assist in housekeeping duties
- Assist in maintaining records of children
