ESTIMATOR

Our Estimator receives technical documents such as Requests for Quotations, Part Drawings, Bill of Materials & other types of part & assembly information from Sales or Customers. Responsibility includes providing cost estimates based on evaluation & interpretation of customer supplied information.  

Success Requires:

o Five plus years estimating or job costing experience is a requirement;

o Experience in a manufacturing, machining, job shop or related environment is a REQUIREMETN.

o Applicants with no manufacturing experience will not be eligible for consideration.

o Completion of a Technical Trade or related Engineering Diploma is an asset

o Combinations of experience and relevant courses will also be considered.

o Proficiency with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD programs are a requirement.

o Solid communication and interpersonal skills;

o Above average mathematical skills; a strong, resourceful problem solver.

o Attention to detail, time and priority management are necessary for success.

o Ability to work in fast-paced environment, continually adapt to change and work under pressure

Your Objective:

o Analyze drawings, specifications & other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates

o Identify internal & external procurement resources, materials, subcontractors & equipment needs

o Act as a resource during award/start-up phase; in collaboration with engineering/production ensure projects are run efficiently, profitably & on schedule

o Where possible identify & generate business, establish/maintain customer relationships
