Description

Reporting to the Director of Economic Development Business & Planning this position is responsible for marketing & promotion of the town of Nipawin as a destination & the planning & management of business development strategies impacting the Town of Nipawin.
-Help provide market research, analysis, planning & tourism services for tourism related businesses, as part of Tourism Nipawin. Collect, analyze & report findings & help develop tourism profiles of the Nipawin market.
-Report directly to the Director of Business Development & work collaboratively with the Nipawin CAO &  Nipawin Council & with all Departments;
Help develop & execute a comprehensive Tourism Development Plan to facilitate & encourage new investment in the community & support existing businesses through Nipawin Business;
Promote the Town of Nipawin as a premiere location for business & industry, encouraging new development & growth;
-Maintain regular contact with the business community to identify needs & challenges to improve the overall Tourism business climate & support local business events and community initiatives & work with the Nipawin Downtown Inc. Manager;
-Identify & recommend marketing opportunities & help design and implement projects, events, campaigns, etc.
Qualifications/Skills:
-High School (Grade 12), community college as well as courses recognized by Tourism Saskatchewan  or SEDA or equivalent education.
-Relevant work experience in a municipal or community related economic development, communications or marketing position.
-A basic understanding of event planning.
-An understanding of project management.
-Proven experience in event and activity planning and implementation in a project team environment.
-Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
-Able to work independently & as part of a team.
-Excellent written and verbal communication &  interpersonal skills with an emphasis on customer service
