Specific Duties Include:
-Ensure that Saskatchewan Education requirements are met so that secondary level students (Gr 10-12) in MLTC jurisdiction schools can be registered with Saskatchewan Education and act as a liaison with Saskatchewan Education.
-Perform teacher evaluations for all new graduates; teachers new to the province; and as requested by school administrations.
-Evaluate and assess performance of Principals in MLFN schools as requested by the First Nations and directed by MLTC Director of Education.
-Coordinate curriculum in-service schedules and yearly calendars for MLTC education initiatives.
-Supervise and monitor the performance of MLTC education staff as per the official Office of Education organizational chart, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
-Review, promote and inform the MLTC Office of Education of any MLTC Office of Education initiatives or community needs and issues.
-Chair regular principal and vice-principal meetings.
-Other duties as assigned by the Director of Education.
Qualifications:
-Bachelor's Degree in Education and/or a Master's Degree or commitment to begin studies in a field appropriate to Education.
-Minimum three (3) years of experience as a School Based Administrator or equivalent related experience will be considered.
-Saskatchewan Teachers Certification or the ability to obtain such standing.
-Experience in working with First Nations' Schools & Communities.
-Working knowledge of the First Nation Student Success Program would be an asset.
-Willing to travel to the First Nation Communities; work within a team setting and independently.
-Excellent communication skills (Verbal/Written); decision making skills; professional judgment skills: and organizational/time-management skills.
-Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in computer software applications (i.e. Microsoft-Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, etc.).
