Description

The position plans and oversees the tailoring, installation and support of subsystems and integrates them with the overall system architecture.

The work involves all aspects of projects, and may involve larger projects with a greater degree of complexity. General supervision is received for small/medium projects; more direct supervision on larger projects. Novel approaches are studied before acceptance, but the position solves problems within the framework of their technical knowledge.

The position may provide training, direction, and technical guidance to staff, and/or team leadership, and provides solutions to others' problems. The position understands and fulfills customer requirements, and assists in designing programs and makes recommendations in their area of specialization to meet customer needs.  The position assumes ownership of customer satisfaction.

Technical Knowledge
- Demonstrated knowledge of TCP/IP protocols including TCP, UDP and ICMP
- Good working knowledge of Cisco IOS OS including routing, switching, DHCP relay, spanning tree and routing protocols
- Good working knowledge of Cisco and Checkpoint firewalls
- Good understanding of IDS/IPS concepts
- Good understanding and working knowledge of the use of SNMP and network management software systems.
- Cisco CCNA certification
- Demonstrated ability and initiative to learn and use new techniques, products, and systems
- Good understanding of SAN concepts and technologies
- Good understanding of TELCO service offerings and their business infrastructure
- General business knowledge in the area of technical solutioning and design concepts
