Description

We are currently hiring a full time bus driver at the YMCA of Moose Jaw who will report directly to the Manager of School Age Services & Strong Kids Campaign.

This position is responsible for the safe transportation and management of appropriate student conduct on an assigned bus route. This position requires the performance of all duties to ensure safety standards and ongoing maintenance are met.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Operates the school bus in a safe and defensive manner exercising self-control, alertness, foresight and good judgment and takes no action that could in any way compromise the safety and well-being of the students on the bus, makes the necessary adjustments for hazards including, but not limited to, weather conditions, other vehicles, road conditions, railroad crossings.
-Adhere to the YMCA Child Protection policies and procedures.
-Ensures compliance with YMCA policies and procedures.

Qualifications & Requirements
-Typically the required knowledge, skills and abilities are obtained through successful completion of Grade Twelve (12) coupled with training and/or experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
-Proof of a safe driving record as reported on a current SGI Drivers Abstract
-A valid Class 1-5 drivers licence with School Bus Endorsement (S endorsement) is required.
-Satisfactory results from a medical examination in accordance with Board policy and The Highway Traffic Act is required
-Related training such as courses in first aid, defensive driving, or heavy equipment operation would be considered an asset
-Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Reference Check/Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Welfare Check issued no later than 1 month preceding your start date.
