Description

The City of Swift Current is inviting applications for the position of  Mechanic Journeyman.  This is a permanent full-time position.

Under the direction of the Fleet Services Superintendent, you will perform duties involving inspections, preventive maintenance and repair on equipment and machinery from all city departments.  

You will be required to supply your own tools.

Basic Requirements:
. Grade 12 Education or GED;
. Certificate of qualification as a Journeyman Mechanic and/or Heavy Duty Mechanic;
. Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5A Saskatchewan Drivers License and have ability to upgrade to a Class 3A or 1A license if required;
. Ability to weld and carry out moderate fabrication;
. Ability to work with a minimum of supervision, and to work well with other employees; and
. Must be willing to obtain a Criminal Record Check.

The salary range for this position is $25.21 to $25.89 per hour in accordance with City of Swift Current/CUPE Local 183 Collective Agreement. The City offers an attractive benefits package and pension plan.
