Description

ASSISTANT PRODUCTION TRAINING COORDINATOR
Hours of Work:    8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, 1/2 hour lunch break

I.    KIND AND LEVEL OF WORK
The person in this position will be manufacturing wood products and other duties as assigned.  

II.    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    to display a mature and understanding responsible attitude at all times
    to promote good work habits
    to break down projects into their simplest form, instruct and assign the work to the individual employee
    to work alongside of employees as required
    to be concerned for the individual employee in the areas of self-care, communication and socialization
    to assign housekeeping and janitorial duties to individual employees and to ensure that all assigned areas are properly done
    to prepare progress reports when requested
    to keep accurate daily attendance records
    to report illness and injury by completing incident reports
    to be prepared for emergencies such as fire and/or illness of the individual employee
    to assist in evaluating individual employees
    to be involved in the Comprehensive Personal Planning (C.P.P.) process
    to help determine necessary supplies
    to maintain good public relations with the community
    other duties as assigned or required as related to the position

III.    EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING DESIRED
Training or experience with precision wood work would be an asset.  This position involves manual labor requiring the use of power tools and air tools, as well as heavy lifting and repetitive movements.  Operation of a forklift and/or heavy truck may be required.  Experience in these areas is an asset, but training can be provided.  The candidate should have experience working with persons who have disabilities or special needs.  For the benefit of the employees the person should be capable of supervising, and instructing, and should have knowledge of work simplification so as to have the employee do the work.  A valid drivers license is essential.
