Responsibilities

As a member of the technical team, the Piping Designer will be assigned specific projects and have the responsibility for preparing all drawings, documents and 3D models in accordance with the projects technical requirements and the prescribed Yara procedures and standards.

Prepare piping designs which will include process piping, structural steel and heat tracing systems.

Design pipe supports and miscellaneous details required for the piping systems.

Prepare specifications and standards, piping and structural BOMs, equipment layouts and piping studies, equipment arrangement drawings and as-built drawings.

Resolve design conflicts in shop and field during construction.

Generate 3D models of piping systems and check 3D models for completeness and accuracy.

Evaluate isometric drawings in accordance with prescribed procedures.
Review piping drawings and documents for conformance to standards and project requirements.

Identify scope change and advise accordingly.

Review and maintain the line and valve lists.

Actively participate in the development of the P&IDs and review for changes.

Attend departmental project and safety meetings

Educational Requirements:
Engineering degree or technologist diploma

Experience Requirements:
Minimum 3 years of experience in plant and piping design.

Working knowledge of process, maintenance and constructions methods.

Additional Information:

This is a temporary 18 month term position.
