Description

MacLean Keith is seeking a highly motivated, long-term, full-time experienced legal assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be independently engaged in the areas of general litigation and assisting in family law. The person who will be most effective in this position is someone who has the:
-    Ability to take initiative and work with little supervision;
-    Ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks;
-    Dedication to accuracy with attention to detail;
-    Ability to handle and protect confidential material; and
-    Ability to meet limitation deadlines.
Job Description:
As the successful candidate you will assist us in providing excellent legal services to one of the firms longtime clients.  You will be responsible for reviewing client files, preparing letters and assisting with documents to be filed with the courts. Some contact with the public is required.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for general administrative duties, such as answering phones, greeting clients, opening files, data entry and filing.
Requirements:
-    Typing speed of 40-50 wpm and be proficient in MS Office;
-    Litigation support experience;
-    Knowledge of PPSA and ISC an asset;
-    Proven organizational skills and ability to work effectively under pressure;
-    Strong knowledge of Windows operating system and programs;
-    Must be able to work in a team oriented atmosphere and also independently with minimal supervision; and
-    Maintains professionalism, confidentiality and discretion.
