Gabriel Housing Corporation, a non-profit housing corporation is seeking to fill the position of Manager, Operations and Projects. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer this positions primary role is but not restricted to, organizing and directing the ongoing activities of the maintenance department, and affiliated companies to ensure that the Corporations maintenance and business planning is stable and administrative performances are operating in accordance with corporate policy. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the construction industry, working knowledge of maintenance and construction concepts and practices, procurement, administration and finance, human resources management and community relations. The successful candidate will demonstrate critical competencies in commitment to results, business savvy, leading change and motivating. Experience working with Aboriginal people, government agencies, construction/maintenance companies, developing partnerships and community involvement would be an asset. Preference will be given to Aboriginal candidates who self declare.
The ideal candidate will have Certification in Carpentry, Plumbing, Electrical or other construction related discipline with a minimum 5 years experience in a senior management position. An equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered. Consideration will be given to candidates who have several years experience in this line of work. Must be bondable, have valid drivers license free of encumbrances and suitable vehicle for work. Only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
