Description

The StarPhoenix, a division of Postmedia Network Inc. is looking for a strong communicator and relationship builder to join our team as a Local Marketing Specialist for a twelve month term. The Local Marketing Specialist will manage sponsorship, promotions and community investment activities for the citys leading news media brand. This position will be the main local marketing contact for The StarPhoenix and will be responsible for coordinating and implementing locally driven marketing campaigns that build audiences and support revenue generation for The StarPhoenixs print, web, tablet and mobile platforms.  

RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Coordinate, implement and report on local marketing plans, promotional campaigns and community investment programs;
    Review, evaluate, and negotiate contracts for partnerships and sponsorships;
    Manage and maintain key local sponsorship and client relationships;
    Coordinate and manage requests for local branded marketing materials and advertisements;
    Maintain brand image in-market;
    Represent The StarPhoenix at meetings and sponsored events;
    Lead key local community activities in Saskatoon: e.g. Raise-a-Reader, Sporting Christmas, Bridge City Boogie;
    Plan and organize internal and external events;
    Coordinate fulfillment of contest rules, prizing, release forms etc.;
    Administrative support and other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:
    Post-secondary education in a related discipline, preferably marketing;
    Minimum 2 years experience in a marketing role;
    Must be able to work effectively independently and as part of a team;
    Proven organizational, planning and project management skills;
    Demonstrated decision making and analytical skills with a strong attention to detail;
    Ability to be flexible and adapt to a rapidly changing environment;
    Excellent PC skills (MS Office, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe Acrobat);
