Description

The Regina Open Door Society Inc. is seeking a qualified individual to staff the full time Casual  position of Settlement Case Worker (November 10 to December 31,2014) with a possibility of extension.

Orientation Services for Newcomers (OSN) works in coordination with other CIC funded and other community programs. OSN provides newcomers with information, orientation, needs assessment, referral and support services to foster their adaptation and integration. Life skill is provided to newcomers with high and complex needs.  
Accessing OSN services will help newcomers meet their everyday settlement needs and goals; to assist them in better understanding life in Canada; to learn how to access CIC funded programs and wider community services; and to adapt and integrate into the community.  
Desired qualifications/education
A Post-Secondary education or related work experience are position requirements.  Additional requirements include excellent communication (oral and written), para-counseling, cross-cultural, leadership, motivational, and organizational skills. The successful candidate will possess the skills necessary to develop the program and work cooperatively and professionally as a representative of RODS in the community setting.  The successful applicant will also require a criminal record check, clean child abuse registry record, reliable vehicle, valid drivers license, and a clean driver abstract.

Hours of work are Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with an hour lunch break.  All position at RODS requires a clean criminal record/child abuse registry check.
