The successful applicant would be responsible to the Director of Planning & Development and would provide a broad range of land use planning and development services including:
the efficient and effective administration of all aspects of the R.M. of Corman Park and Corman Park-Saskatoon Planning District Official Community Plans and Zoning Bylaws;
review and provide recommendations on a variety of planning applications such as development permits, rezoning and subdivision approvals, textual amendments and other requirements pertaining to approved development;
act as a liaison between the Planning Department, the development and building industry, external agencies, and the general public;
provide excellent customer service in a positive and informative way;
assist in arranging for public notifications;
attend District Planning Commission meetings, public hearings, Open Houses and other meetings, as necessary; and
work with internal R.M. departments in gathering a variety of information necessary for planning applications.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
eligibility for membership in the Canadian Institute of Planners and Saskatchewan Professional Planning Institute is required and full membership is preferred;
thorough knowledge of the regulations, legislation, procedures and requirements related to the principles and practices of rural and community planning including:
o The Planning & Development Act, 2007 and Statements of Provincial Interest;
o Official Community Plans and Zoning Bylaws;
o rezoning, subdivision, development and building permit approval processes;
o land survey and land titles systems; and
o computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets, databases are required with GIS and/or AutoCAD being an asset.

Specific Skills
