Responsible for organizing the work involved with all construction activities on site to ensure a safe, integrated, coordinated, and controlled approach. The construction coordinator sets parameters in relation to time, cost, and quality and project outcomes as it relates to construction deliverables.
1. Develops and implements an appropriate organizational structure for execution of daily activities regarding construction.
2. Provides leadership to both contractors and members of the construction team in order to ensure accountabilities are met on a daily basis.
3. Ensures availability of necessary materials, plans and tools for work.
4. Trains and instructs construction personnel in conformity to safe and efficient work practices.
5. Maintains necessary work unit production and personnel records associated with shift operations.
6. Coordinates site surface contractor activities.
7. Ensures all work is in compliance with stated procedures.
8. Ensure that all direct reports in the workplace take responsibility for aspects of Occupational Health, Safety and Environment over which they have control including adherence to all OHS&E requirements applicable to DMC Mining Services.
9. Puts together minor scopes of work and technical memorandums.
10. Experience in use of a CMMS an asset.
- 5 years experience in a construction supervisory role.
- Must have proven knowledge and experience in the construction industry. Experience in the mining industry is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Proficiency in written and oral communication skills
