Description

The College of Medicine invites applications for a tenure track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the area of proteomics as applied to protein-protein interactions, post-translational modifications or other high-throughput mass spectrometry applications. Preference will be given to candidates with an expertise in large-scale identification of protein-protein interactions and/or quantitative systems biology approaches to investigate molecular mechanisms of human diseases. A strong track record in collaborative research with substantial potential to secure external funding from major granting agencies is expected.
The research activities in the College of Medicine are organized into Research Clusters and the successful candidate will join the cluster that best fits his/her research program. He/she is expected to establish a vigorous independent and externally funded research program involving graduate students and postdoctoral fellows, and to contribute to teaching in graduate and undergraduate academic programs at the College of Medicine. The candidate will further advance protein mass spectrometry capability within the College of Medicine, which currently houses several mass spectrometers including Agilent 6550 Q-TOF and Agilent 6460 Triple Quadrupole LC/MS. He/she will develop local collaborations and provide expert support to other researchers within the College that are engaged in biomedical research relying on mass spectrometry.
Salary bands for this post are as follows: Assistant Professor  $88,798 - $106,708; Associate Professor  $106,708  $124,618 and Professor  $124,618  $145,513).
