Responsibilities include:
Benefit & Pension plan enrollments, changes and terminations
Creation and maintenance of all employee personnel files
Assist in writing personnel and HR Policies and distribution
Assist management with recruitment, discipline, promotions and performance appraisals
Assist all Municipal employees with inquiries regarding health and wellness plans
Inform employees of policies, job duties, working conditions, wages and opportunities for promotion
Assist with internal training initiatives
Maintain positive working relationships between employees and management team
Assist in labour relations and collective agreement administration
Assist Office Manager as required with scheduling of time off requests, sign off of time sheets etc.
Maintain EDO schedule
Assist with Council package preparations
o Compilation and distribution
Assist with the updates of Council communications and contact information
Assist with putting out public notices relating to Council
DRO (Deputy Returning Officer) duties during elections as needed
Create Council Orientation packages as needed.
Assist with the creation/maintenance of new filing systems
Responsible for creation and maintenance of Communications such as:
o Internal/External Newsletters
o Public Notices
Assist in the management of the Council Event Schedule as required
Coordinate all staff functions/events
Other necessary tasks that may be required, and that have been deemed reasonable for a Human Resources Officer/ Assistant Office Manager
Qualifications:
At least 2 years experience in an municipality and/or Human Resource Management position
A Bachelors Degree in Human Resource Management or a combination of education and experience is preferred
Energetic, forward thinking, team player
Demonstrated leadership, supervisory and conflict management/dispute resolution skills
Have a positive attitude and be enthusiastic
