Will oversee the maintenance & upkeep of roads, heavy equipment, water treatment facility & on reserve housing. Utilizing technical expertise, local labour & a staff compliment, will ensure the annual budgeting & regular upkeep of various buildings & equipment. Will also ensure that appropriate training & supervision of staff is carried out according to budgetary allowances & programming needs. Will also maintain & upkeep an inventory of equipment & tools necessary to the department's functions.
Responsible to initiate & implement Program/Project Policies and Procedures, developing effective work processes & solving operational problems. Must be team oriented and work closely with the Departmental Supervisors, Human Resources and the Operations Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must possess:
Diploma/Degree in Business Admin. or equivalency of 4-5 years relevant working experience.
Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, schedule & supervise the work of staff, estimate time & equipment required to do a task; includes staff involved in related & unrelated concurrent projects;
Knowledge of financial reporting requirements, budgeting, & interpreting of financial statements;
Knowledge of health & safety regulations;
Oral & written communication skills
Analytical & interpretive skills, with the ability to make intelligent, efficient & expeditious decisions.
Knowledge & user experience in Computers & housing software programs;
Working experience in operating heavy equipment (i.e. grader, backhoe, loader, mower) would be an asset but not a requirement;
Some overall knowledge & understanding of the maintenance of equipment (i.e. grader, backhoe, loader, mower);
REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess a valid driver's license & a reliable mode of transportation.
Valid CPR & First Aid training or registered to attend courses.
Must be willing to submit a Drug Screen & Criminal Record Check.
