10 MONTH TERM WITH OPPORTUNITY TO EXTEND

The Financial Consumer Affairs Authority Enforcement Branch of the Securities Division requires a highly motivated person with excellent administrative and secretarial skills. As administrative assistant for the Enforcement Branch, you will provide administrative and secretarial support to the Branch, under the supervision of the Senior Enforcement Assistant. You will co-ordinate branch activity by taking and screening new complaints, track open investigation files to ensure proper follow-up, prepare bi-monthly file status reports and enter information, as well as search Internet data bases in respect to illegal securities related activities.
Your main duties will include the accurate and timely transcription of audio recordings as well as the handling and documenting and securing of evidence. You will use your excellent public relation skills in responding to inquiries or complaints from investors, other regulatory agencies and police departments.

As the successful candidate, you will have a demonstrated ability to: independently initiate and organize methods of office efficiencies; establish effective work relationships; maintain a professional demeanor; as well as show good judgment when dealing with senior officials, clients, stakeholders, and staff. Finally, you will be responsible, flexible and adaptable in order to meet new challenges in a changing environment.

Typically the knowledge for this position would be obtained through a combination of education and experience related to office administration.

Experience with transcription software and equipment is critical to your success in this position.
