PotashCorp, the worlds largest crop nutrient company plays an integral role in global food production.

The company has a career opportunity for qualified applicants at PotashCorp  Lanigan, located 100km east of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

The Lab Technician will perform routine and specialized chemical, quantitative and metallurgical test work. Sampling duties and plant duties will be required on special projects. The incumbent will be required to take and transport heavy samples. The work schedule is a 10-hour day shift. However, the incumbent may be required to work a modified shift schedule to provide weekend coverage.

The successful applicant will be a graduate from a provincial technical school course in Chemical Technology, or a recognized university with a degree in Chemistry, or an equivalent course of study. This position requires the capabilities to perform varied and technical tasks where a thorough knowledge of metallurgical and chemical principles as well as judgment are required, and to perform these tasks with a high degree of accuracy. This position requires the skill to perform non-routine mathematical calculations and to solve non-routine chemical problems.

This position requires the ability to perform job duties in a safe and responsible manner; the ability to work both independently and as part of a team; and the ability to interact positively with co-workers and supervisors.  Previous experience in an industrial environment would be an asset.  

The successful candidate may be required to undergo a background check.  All safety sensitive positions require a substance test in accordance with PotashCorp policy.
