The Cafe and Day Catering Cook is responsible for daily soup specials and hot foods on the cafeteria and catering side of Boffins kitchen. Additionally, they will also be called upon to work at other kitchen stations that are short-staffed or in need of additional assistance.
This is a Monday - Friday position with fulltime day hours.
KEY RESPONSIBLITIES
- Oversees the production and preparation for all daily soups and hot foods
- Assists other stations, as needed, with catering and cafeteria food production
- Ensures all food delivered is fresh and of the highest quality
- Regularly consults with the Kitchen Supervisors on supply ordering
- Communicates and coordinates with other stations to ensure the timely delivery of food
- Ensures the kitchen and service area is clean and up to health code standards at all times
- Any other duties as required by the Kitchen Supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- 2-3 years of kitchen experience
- Strong familiarity with the different stations in a kitchen
- Desire to provide exceptional customer service
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Teamwork and collaboration abilities
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast paced environment
- Remains calm and even-keeled when managing sudden changes or challenges
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Excellent multi-tasking capabilities
