Description

The Department of Food and Bioproduct Sciences invites applications for a Research Chair in Carbohydrate Quality and Utilization (equivalent in rank to Assistant or Associate Professor).

The successful candidate will have an excellent knowledge of and previous research experience in plant carbohydrates. Excellence will be demonstrated through recent peer reviewed publications and citations in top tier journals, the ability to secure competitive research funding, and a proven track record of teaching and research supervision commensurate with years since PhD and rank at appointment.

The Chair will be expected to establish an independent and externally-funded world-class research program. The Chair will be expected to collaborate with other members of the Department of Food and Bioproduct Sciences as well as researchers in the Department of Plant Sciences, the Crop Development Centre, and other relevant units on campus and in the Saskatoon science cluster.  Teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels will be required, however, the great majority of time will be devoted to research and industry liaison.

This tenure-track position will begin July 1, 2015.
