Description

Spadina Industries and our sister-company, Sleepers Mattress Factory, are known for manufacturing high quality residential and commercial sleep products.  We are looking for people who share our commitment to service and craftsmanship.

You will learn to operate one or more pieces of specialized sewing equipment unique to the mattress industry. You will also assist in textile cutting and preparation of fabric sub-assemblies.

- Tape Edge Machine Operator
- Quilting Machine Operator

Our ideal candidates will have at least one year of experience as an industrial sewing machine operator.     A good candidate for on-the-job training must:
- have some experience working with heavier materials such as vinyl or canvas
- be highly adaptive to complex high-speed, computer controlled equipment
- demonstrate aptitude for navigating touch screen menus to select appropriate settings
- be a continuous learner who is able to read and understand complex equipment manuals

The next training sessions begin December 1, 2014.

Please be aware that the large machines are operated from a standing position, and require the operator to reach, bend, patrol and lift throughout the process.  Sufficient height and functional fitness is required.

Salary is based on experience, versatility and contribution to the team.
