Description

As a key member of Envirotec's leadership group, you will be committed to providing a healthy and safe work environment for over 130 team members. You will be relied upon to bring a wealth of knowledge and experience in the health and safety field that will allow you to advise on various unique obstacles that we face on a day to day basis. This position requires an individual who is looking for a challenging role, in an industry unlike any other.

Key Accountabilities:
1. Identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices in the workplace.
2. Develop controls for identified hazards. Coordinate the implementation of controls from results of hazard analysis.
3. Conduct and coordinate on-site inspections to audit physical conditions and safe work practices. Provide advice and counsel concerning all city, provincial, and federal compliance regulations.
4. Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of the hazard control system, policies, and procedures and recommend changes that reflect improved opportunities to eliminate work place accidents and injuries and harm to the environment.
5. Direct or assist in the development of specialized education and training materials to create a culture of safety leaders.
6. Conduct specialized safety and environmental training programs to communicate hazard control information.
7. Coordinate new employee occupational health, safety and environmental orientation.
8. Analyze, interpret and report accident, loss, and exposure statistical data; prepare comprehensive recommendations for corrective action to eliminate or minimize potential hazards.
9. Review injury and property damage reports.
10. Incorporate essential occupational health, safety, and environmental requirements in all purchasing and control actions.
11. Perform other related duties as directed that correspond to the overall function of this position.
