Description

Duties:
- Create and deliver lessons to students from grades six (6) to twelve (12) in First Nation community schools on careers and post-secondary education options by utilizing a variety of resources.
- Assist classroom instructors in implementing Career Cruising and other career and education materials into their scheduled curriculum.
- Provide on-going support to the schools in ways to assist them in set-up/implementation of relevant computer software applications (i.e. Career Cruising, etc.).
- Coordinate and facilitate career/post-secondary oriented events (i.e. Career Days, Tours of Post-Secondary Institutions, Guest Speakers from Industry Partners, etc.)
- Work on special initiatives.
- Maintain on-going liaison with various organizations and agencies that provide support and assistance in carrying out services provided and professional development for community school personnel.

Qualifications:
- A Bachelor of Social Work degree with a major in psychology. A combination of relevant education and experience will be considered.
- Experience in career guidance is considered an asset (i.e. career student counseling).
- Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
- Excellent organizational and planning skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment with minimum supervision.
- Ability to speak Cree and/or Dene is considered a valuable asset.
