Description

This position reports to the Executive Director, Research and Development and is responsible for developing and implementing the Western Livestock Price Insurance Program (WLPIP), the WLPIP participation strategy and develop program awareness throughout Saskatchewan. With the use of all analysis and information collected, combined with professional judgment and industry knowledge, the WLPIP Coordinator will make recommendations on program design collaborating with federal and provincial partners, continually monitoring livestock markets and program methodology to ensure program integrity and effective delivery.

The knowledge and skills required for this position are acquired through the completion of a university degree in agriculture, plus extensive related experience with the Canadian livestock industry and agricultural commodity markets, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
