The Saskatoon Tribal Council is a dynamic, forward-looking, outcome based organization. We are currently hiring Family Liaison Workers.
This position provides support and linkages to services to ensure First Nations childrens inherent rights and cultural lineages are at the forefront of best practice and demonstrated in case management. Some of the duties assigned to this position are:
Provide support and resources to First Nations families involved in family judicial system
Advocating for families involved with court process
Acting as a bridge between First Nations children, communities, other agencies and key stakeholders.
Responding to concerns in culturally sensitive manner and adhering to legislative mandates
Engaging key stakeholders and facilitating collaborative and culturally appropriate case management
Ensuring case management processes are reflective to cultural practices and continuing to create opportunities for learning and growth
QUALIFICATIONS
Significant experience working with First Nations people and knowledge and understanding of culture and traditions of Cree, Saulteaux, and Dakota First Nations
Bachelors degree in social work (BISW or BSW), or equivalent certificate (CISW or CSW), and significant experience in social work or family service field
Understanding of the Child & Family Services Act (CFSA) and FSIN Indian Child Welfare Family Support Act
Provide original copy of your CPIC along with resume
At time of interview, you must provide copy of a vulnerabilities check (ACI) from Ministry of Social Services (Saskatchewan) and equivalent from any other jurisdiction in which you have lived during the past 10 years
Provide copy of vulnerabilities check from CFS Agency serving your First Nation (if applicable)
Provide copy of valid Saskatchewan drivers license and a driver abstract
Registered with Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers.
