As a member of the maintenance team the Maintenance Worker ensures the highest standard of appearance, safety, security and longevity of Housing Authority property. The Maintenance Worker participates in an "on-call" system, as a responder to after regular business hours maintenance emergency calls.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THIS POSITION WILL BE:
- Building maintenance, service & repair
- Vacancy preparation;
- Grounds maintenance;
- Maintain Housing Authority equipment, vehicles, and inventory
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- 1 to 3 years experience in a maintenance & repair environment. An equivalent combination of education & relevant experience may be considered;
- General knowledge of the basic techniques used in a variety of trades including carpentry, plumbing, painting & electrical trades;
- Ability to repair minor defects in mechanical & building equipment, refrigeration & air conditioning equipment;
- Must possess, or be willing to obtain, a firemans certificate;
- Ability to maintain good communications & effective relations with tenants, Housing Authority staff, contractors & suppliers;
- Recognition of & respect for peoples diversity & individual differences;
- Ability to maintain confidentiality;
- Valid drivers license & use of own vehicle;
- Must provide own hand tools;
